South Palm Beach mayor causes stir after strip club incident
SOUTH PALM BEACH – Mayor Martin Millar got a grilling from some residents over a police report that said he was kicked out of an adult entertainment club, WPTV-Ch. 5 reports.
One man stood at the podium during the public comment portion of Tuesday night’s town council meeting and told Millar: “You owe the people an explanation.”
Millar, who was not arrested, was kicked out of Rachel’s adult entertainment club in West Palm Beach on Monday night after shining a flashlight at an exotic dancer and threatening a club manager, according to the police report.
He repeatedly said he was a public official, the report said.
When a WPTV reporter asked Millar about the incident, he replied, “I will not comment on anything that happened at Rachel’s, just that people supported me. I’m exhausted and I’m going home.”

A mayor comes face to face for the first time with the public after being accused of a wild night out a strip club. A manager at Rachel’s Steakhouse and Adult entertainment club had to call the police after they say Martin Millar got too rowdy.

It was just last monday when the manager of Rachel’s threw South Palm Beach Mayor Martin Millar out of the Steakhouse and strip club in West Palm Beach. Police were called to Rachel’s after employees told police that Millar was shining a flashlight on one of the dancers and was disruptive. Police say Mayor Millar smelled like alcohol. and told an officer quote: “I’m an elected official” “I’m better than you” and “I’m more important than you.” Police reports also show Millar also called his own towns police department to take him to the hospital. An ambulance was eventually called. And then he called South Palm Beach Police again. To come pick him up from the hospital. The officer eventually did in his personal vehicle. Millar was never arrested but other town council members said they wanted to see Millar address the incident.

Hernandez’s lawyer, Lance Block, said he had expected a job offer Aug. 5 but instead was urged to accept his permanent disability retirement. Staff allegedly told Hernandez, “This is what’s best for you,” Block said.
After the near-fatal shooting, Hernandez has made what even his Sheriff’s Office co-workers have called a miraculous comeback.
Hernandez, awarded a sheriff’s Medal of Honor last year, has gotten an outpouring of community support at public appearances he has made across South Florida. He attended court proceedings last year to watch his shooter, David Maldonado, be found guilty of attempted first-degree murder. Maldonado was later sentenced to life in prison.
Hernandez was left with several disabilities after the shooting, including a limp and a slightly paralyzed left arm. He acknowledges he wouldn’t be able to return to his old post as an undercover detective, where he once cracked down on street crimes, robberies and prostitution. But “there are options that I believe I am qualified for,” he said.

It’s too soon for voting, but my Palm Beach County Mayor of the Year Award is leaning heavily toward Marty Millar in South Palm Beach.
Millar may have sewn things up last week after a long Monday night and early Tuesday morning. He was involved in multiple attempts to use the town police as his private taxi service, a trip to the hospital while being strapped to a body board inside a county ambulance, and a dust-up with a bouncer in West Palm Beach.
Did I mention it was at a strip club? Yes, it’s going to be really hard to beat Millar.

Which the officer did. It’s a heartwarming story of a mayor who goes to the emergency room for a minor strip club injury, and then bums a ride home from his police department.

An elected official finds himself in the spotlight because of where he was and what he was doing.
Police say a local mayor had been drinking and caused a disturbance at a strip club and was thrown out of the place.
You might not expect a mayor to be at a bar with nude dancers, drinking and behaving so badly that a manager r grabbed him by the neck and escorted him outside.
But that’s what happened to South Palm Beach Mayor Martin Millar. It’s all spelled out in a police report.
Millar was at Rachel’s a steakhouse and strip club on
45th Street in West Palm Beach Monday night, August 17.
West Palm Beach Police were called to Rachel’s after Millar was reportedly caught shining a flashlight on a dancer on the stage.
