Officer drives Mayor Millar home from JFK after Rachel’s dustup
Daily News Staff Writer
Thursday, August 20, 2009
A scuffle at Rachel’s nightclub and a sore neck afterward has South Palm Beach Mayor Marty Millar explaining why he asked his police department to take him to the hospital, and then back home.
Millar was involved in a dustup with a bouncer at the West Palm Beach adult club Monday night. A West Palm Beach police log shows a call about 8:30 that night concerning a Hispanic man with a gun at Rachel’s Adult Entertainment and Steakhouse, 2905 45th St.
In a telephone interview Tuesday, Millar said he was at the adult entertainment club Monday night.
“I was having dinner,” he said. “It is a dinner club also.”
Millar said the incident with the bouncer “was a misunderstanding. They had the wrong person. A mistake was made. I wasn’t the person they were looking for.”

Palm Beach Adult Entertainment: Argument over money leads to woman st…

August 20th, 2009 by adultpalmbeach

Stacy Ramsey, 24, was arrested on aggravated assault charges after she confessed to stabbing her husband, 28-year-old Michael Ramsey, also of New Orleans, in the shoulder and leg, according to a sheriff’s office report.
Deputies first received a 911 call from Michael Ramsey around 8:30 a.m. claiming he had been stabbed by his wife near the intersection of Belvedere and Haverhill roads. A woman was heard in the background and then got on the phone claiming her husband had actually been robbed and stabbed during a drug deal, according to the report.
The call was disconnected, but Michael Ramsey called again shortly after 9 a.m. and said he was near the Goldfinger’s adult entertainment club at 8340 Resource Road just off Interstate 95 outside of Riviera Beach. Firefighters arrived and rushed Michael Ramsey to St. Mary’s Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Palm Beach Strip Clubs: Taking stock of your credit

August 17th, 2009 by palmbeach-stripper

It’s another sign of the tough economic times. If you suddenly begin using your credit card to make purchases at a thrift store or a number of other locations, it may send up a red flag to your credit card company that could negatively impact your credit, say some experts.
“A lot of credit card companies are looking at behavioral flags to see how likely you might be to not make a payment, and they use that information to adjust your credit limit,” said Robert Manning, author of Credit Card Nation.
“If someone never shopped at a thrift store, and suddenly did, that would be a flag,” he said. “Getting a cash advance, suddenly shopping at the dollar store, or if masseuse, strip club or bar tab purchases start to show up on your credit card statement … It’s in the change of behavior.”

Palm Beach Strip Clubs: Steve Rothaus

August 16th, 2009 by palmbeach-stripper

… Since the homeless confide in us and trust us, we feel it important to pass this along to you,” Father Bob wrote in a June 2008 e-mail addressed to the mayor, city commissioners and BSO officials.
In April 2009, an attorney called the Fort Lauderdale police saying two of his clients had complained about a cop inappropriately touching them. Fort Lauderdale then contacted BSO.
Over the next four months, detectives knocked on doors and worked to solidify the case, BSO Detective Graciela Benito said.
In July, Bleiweiss was reassigned to desk duty.
On Aug. 2, a Sunday night, Bleiweiss asked all his friends to a party at Johnny’s Bar, a gay strip club in Fort Lauderdale. It was out of character for the deputy, said Renzi, the editor of the Blade.

Palm Beach Escorts: About 160 arrested in crackdown of drug trade in Broward

August 15th, 2009 by palmbeachhobbyist

FORT LAUDERDALE – About 160 people were arrested across Broward County in an intense two-day sweep that focused on crimes ranging from prostitution to the illegal sale of prescription drugs.
The crackdown over Thursday and Friday, called Operation Summer Slam, was a joint effort by the Broward Sheriff’s Office, Drug Enforcement Administration, Immigrations and Customs Enforcement and the Lauderhill and Sunrise police departments. It follows two months after a joint operation between the FBI and Sheriff’s Office netted more than 50 suspected gang members in Pompano Beach and Deerfield Beach.
According to Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Dani Moschella, Operation Summer Slam also targeted street-level drug deals and fugitives with outstanding warrants and included a prostitution sting in Dania Beach. The Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force arrested two men, each on multiple counts of possession of child pornography.

Excited drivers lined up for blocks in the hopes of getting some free gas during a 10,000 gallon giveaway in Pembroke Pines this morning.
Hundreds flocked to the Chevron at University Drive and Pines Blvd., honking their horns and cheering as they filled their tanks for free as part of a promotion by the Paul and Young Ron radio show.
Anyone who showed up with a working car got $25 worth of gas, along with free car washes and free food.
Some lucky dudes even got to chat with some of the dancers from Goldrush strip club, who came over to help out with the promotion and pump gas for patrons.

Palm Beach Strip Clubs: Free gas promotion draws hundreds to Pembroke Pines Chevron

August 14th, 2009 by palmbeach-stripper

One car ahead of Thompson, William Hutchins smoked a cigarette inside his Chevy Silverado Hybrid and smiled as his engine turned itself off while he idled.
“I’m not burning $10 to get $10,” he said.
Hutchins, 44, said he appreciated the promotion.
“I’ll make this my regular gas station now,” the Pines resident said. “This makes a difference. This is somebody giving back to the community.”
Several blocks behind, where the finish line wasn’t in sight, tempers ran hot as engines as drivers tried to cut into the lane ahead of others, leading to what Julius Mathis Jr. called “mad pandemonium.”
But for those who made it to the gas station, an oasis of fuel and food awaited them.
“I’m just grateful,” Mathis said as a Goldrush gentlemen’s club dancer filled up his tank.

Palm Beach Strip Clubs: Credit card firms flagging spending on thrift store, spas …

‘Gain intelligence’
Tracking how a consumer lives through his or her credit card purchases – known as data profiling or data mining – is nothing new.
Credit card companies began their foray into data profiling a decade ago; it’s a science at which they have now become incredibly sophisticated.

Among the credit card usages that were targeted: too many cash advances; marriage and other counseling services; infomercial purchases; strip clubs, pool halls and bars; and retreading tires.

Strip clubs, porn, other “adult” purchases: Manning says these purchases are seen as escapism from difficult times – such as financial worries.

Palm Beach Strip Clubs: The Sunset Blue Block Party Makes Bar-Hopping EasyTakin’ It to the …

… They have cheese pizza by the slice, too,” he offered, when he saw me arching an eyebrow at the excessive wads of meat.
A1A Dive Bar: I passed the soap vendor (all surrounding air smelled like a botanical garden had exploded), glimpsed a crew prepping an outdoor stage for the night’s talent, and lingered briefly near an anti-aging clinic booth before heading through the door of A1A Dive Bar.  This local hangout is homey and comfortable. The twang of country music floated in the air; boats, inflatable monkeys, and fairy lights decorated the place; and most of the furniture looked like something you’d slouch in while drinking a brew on your patio. The room was centered by a vacant stripper pole, and strobe lights illuminated tiny international flags and bottles of booze at the back of the room.

Palm Beach Massage Parlors: Despite crime, former West Palm Beach City Commissioner Jim Exline …

August 11th, 2009 by palmbeach-massage

… A few months in my life, I made some bad decisions,” he said. “Some day I’ll be back involved and I’ll contribute to my community. I hope you’ll look at the whole picture, to the contributions that have been made.”
Exline’s case came before the board because it had to wait for his release from prison, which took place in April 2008, board counsel Bonni Jensen said.
Another case that may be decided within a month: that of Liberti.
Liberti was sentenced to 18 months in prison in October 2006 after pleading guilty to mail fraud and witness tampering. He was released last year.
Liberti took $66,000 and a $2,000 watch as payoffs while filing false complaints with city agencies against the owners of a massage parlor and a nightclub. Liberti was trying to force the properties’ owners to sell them, partly so the massage parlor could be turned into a brothel, federal authorities said.
