Dane White goes before a judge in a Palm Beach County court. Delray Beach Police arrested and charged him with one count of aggravated battery, but they say more charges are on the way.
“If we didn’t capture him, he could definitely escalate to possibly murder. So that’s why we’re so glad that he’s off the streets,” said Detective Gene Sapino, with Delray Beach Police Department.
In a news conference Wednesday, South Florida authorities from five agencies announced that White is accused of severely beating at least 13 prostitutes in Broward and Palm Beach counties. Police agencies including Coconut Creek and Broward Sheriff’s Office, working together for months, after they noticed the similar pattern of assaults starting back in October. Shared information led them to an address, a car, and White.
Police say White would pick up prostitutes and take them to different locations. Sometimes he would have sex with them, sometimes not.

Delray Beach police announced Wednesday the arrest of a man accused of severely beating at least 13 prostitutes in Broward and Palm Beach counties. Dane White, 28, of Boynton Beach, was arrested Tuesday and charged with aggravated battery, Detective Gene Sapino said at a news conference.
Detectives from Coconut Creek and the Broward Sheriff’s Office were on hand to say that White had done the same thing to prostitutes in their jurisdictions stemming as far back as October 2008. So far, only Delray Beach police have officially charged him.
According to Sapino, White said he would pick up the women, negotiate a price, take them to another location and beat them repeatedly in the face and choke them. Sapino said he couldn’t speak to some of the victims for two or three days because of the swelling and the loss of their teeth.

Sapino said White confessed, claiming that he beat the women because of a breakup with his girlfriend of four years. He said he couldn’t hurt her, so he beat the prostitutes instead.

DELRAY BEACH, Fla. — Delray Beach police Wednesday announced the arrest of a man who they said targeted prostitutes in South Florida.
Dane White, 28, of Boynton Beach, is accused of sexually assaulting at least 13 prostitutes in Broward and Palm Beach counties since October 2008.
Police said some of the victims were picked up by White and then severely beaten.
Detective Gene Sapino said the victims were so badly beaten that when he would meet with them at the hospital, they couldn’t communicate with him for two or three days.
Police said there may be many other victims who have not yet come forward.

A suburban Boynton Beach man beat as many as 15 women, some severely, in Palm Beach and Broward counties, authorities say.
Dane Matthew White, 28,, is charged with one count of aggravated battery.

The following day, the report said, she said she had met Dane in the 100 block of Southwest Ninth Avenue while working as a prostitute. She said she got in his car but the man said he’d forgotten something. She got out and he drove off. She said he returned a few minutes later and demanded she remove her pants. And Crist voiced concerns this year when Hasner and other Republicans pushed for heightened restrictions and stiffer penalties for groups like ACORN that specialize in voter-registration and petition drives. The legislation died.
Last week, despite recent fraud charges against 11 Florida ACORN voter registration workers, Crist’s office said there’s “no evidence” bogus voters have actually cast ballots.
The issue was raised by Crist’s 2010 GOP Senate primary rival, Marco Rubio.
Despite Crist’s position, Hasner says the recent videos featuring a faux pimp-and-prostitute duo bolster the case for elections changes because they demonstrate “the web of fraud and deception that organizations like this have been perpetrating to advance their radical left-wing agenda.”

The U.S. House joined the U.S. Senate this afternoon in voting to cut off any federal money to scandal-plagued ACORN.
The vote was 345-75 to attach a Republican anti-ACORN measure to a student aid bill. All 75 “no” votes came from Democrats, including U.S. Robert Wexler, D-Boca Raton. Wexler considers the language unconstitutional, a spokesman said.
U.S. Reps. Ron Klein, D-Boca Raton, and Tom Rooney, R-Tequesta, supported the measure.
U.S. Rep. Alcee Hastings, D-Miramar, answered “present.”
The left-leaning Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now has been under fire since a pair of guerrilla videographers — one of them a 20-year-old minister’s daughter who attends Florida International University — posed as a prostitute and a pimp and captured hidden-camera footage of ACORN employees offering advice on how to set up a brothel and conceal the income.
