Fla. Priest Seeks Custody of Child From Stripper

PEMBROKE PINES, Fla.   A South Florida priest on indefinite leave is seeking custody of the child he conceived with a former stripper.
David Dueppen admits he fathered the child, and asked for 70 percent custody in Miami-Dade Family Court papers filed this week.
The 42-year-old joined the priesthood in 1999, and stepped away in August after Beatrice Hernandez approached the archdiocese. He served most recently in Pembroke Pines
Hernandez says she’s been Dueppen’s on-again, off-again girlfriend for seven years. The 42-year old met the priest while working at a club called Porky’s.
A judge issued a temporary restraining order against Dueppen after Hernandez claimed he choked her during an argument over paternity and child support.
Dueppen denies those allegations.

MIAMI, Oct. 7 (UPI) — A Roman Catholic priest in South Florida is seeking custody of the daughter he fathered with a former stripper, his lawyer said Wednesday.
David Dueppen, who is on a leave of absence from St. Maximilian Kolbe Church in Pembroke Pines, filed a petition in Miami-Dade Family Court this week, The Miami Herald reported. Lawyer Raymon Rafool said Dueppen believes he should care for the baby, Marilyn Epiphany, at least 70 percent of the time.
“He has never denied paternity for the child and he would like to be very involved in the child’s life,” Rafool said.
Beatrice Hernandez, the girl’s mother, said she first met Dueppen seven years ago at Porky’s, a club where she was working as a stripper. She said they had an intermittent affair.

When police did a prostitution sting Tuesday night in Delray Beach, they reeled in some pretty big fish.
These are the kind of men you would not expect to be out late at night trying to find a hooker. A high school teacher at Palm Beach Central High, Lawrence Dailey, 64.
A Boynton Beach city employee, Fontaine Watkins, 38.
And a Boca Raton dentist,Dr. Samuel Klein, 50.
All of them were snagged in a prostitution bust in the 2500-block of North Federal Highway.
“They approached an officer working in an undercover capacity, offered to pay her cash for sex, and were uh, then taken into custody.,” said Officer Jeff Messer, Delray Beach Police spokesman.

He says in his opinion Delray Beach police need to work even harder to rid the area of prostitutes.

Charged with soliciting prostitution: Lawrence Dailey, 64, a teacher at Palm Beach Central High School; Fontaine Watkins, 38, who has worked for Boynton Beach’s Recreation & Parks Department since 1996; and Samuel Klein, 50, a married dentist of west of Boca Raton.
A fourth arrest was also made but details were not available.

DELRAY BEACH, Fla. — A teacher, a dentist and a park employee are among those caught in an undercover sex sting, Delray Beach police said Wednesday.
Authorities said the men offered as much as $60 to an undercover police detective posing as a prostitute in the 2500 block of North Federal Highway. Police said the undercover officer lured them to a Delray Beach hotel room, where they were arrested.
Among those arrested in the sting were Lawrence Dailey, a teacher at Palm Beach Central High for 20 years; Fontaine Watkins, a Boynton Beach Recreation & Parks Department employee for 13 years; and a dentist whose practice is located west of Boca Raton.
They were arrested on charges of soliciting prostitution.
