Palm Beach Strip Clubs: Strippermobile Banned In Illinois

May 26th, 2010 by palmbeach-stripper

It was actually a really good idea.  To advertise adult businesses in the area, several groups sponsored a strippermobile.  Basically, it was an advertised van that drove around town, featuring a woman or women dancing sexily behind glass.  Kind of a mobile adult botique and exotic dancer depot!  Unfortunately for those businesses, their advertising van worked a little too well and the city council of Collinsville, Illinois, has passed an ordinance banning the strippermobile.
Technically, since they can’t ban one vehicle directly, they simply banned live entertainment vehicles and trailers, regardless of whether or not they have strippers shaking their junk inside them.  Either way, the message is clear:  “No sexy dancing ladies in creepy vans in OUR town!  Skeezy dive-bars only!”
I have to wonder how this worked.  Did the stripper sit down while the van drove and only got up to dance at stoplights or when pulled over?  Did she dance all the time and just occasionally fall when the vehicle had to brake sharply?  How exactly did this work without someone toppling off her skyscraper heels and hurting herself?

Palm Beach Escorts: Victims’ lawyers sue billionaire sex offender Jeffrey Epstein for $2 million …

May 25th, 2010 by palmbeachhobbyist

Epstein’s failure to pay the legal tab constitutes “a material breach” of the agreement that allowed Epstein to avoid federal charges and receive a light sentence in Palm Beach Circuit Court, said Steven Marks, a Podhurst attorney. After waiting for more than 20 months for Epstein to pay up, the firm had no choice but to file suit, he said.
“It has become abundantly clear that Epstein, having obtained the benefits of the [agreement] and having escaped federal criminal prosecution, now believes that he can simply ignore — without consequence — the obligations imposed under the [agreement],” he wrote in the suit. “Put simply, Epstein believes he is above the law.”
Neither his criminal attorney Jack Goldberger nor his civil attorney Robert Critton returned telephone calls for comment.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office, which negotiated the so-called non-prosecution agreement, declined comment as did State Attorney Michael McAuliffe, whose predecessor agreed to the 2007 deal that allowed Epstein to plead guilty to two prostitution-related charges in state court. He served 13 months of an 18-month sentence during which he was allowed to leave to go to work.

Palm Beach Adult Entertainment: Educators union splits Senate endorsement

May 25th, 2010 by adultpalmbeach

The Palm Beach Post reported that Meek gave a rousing speech to the union members Saturday: “No one should be able to come in at the last moment to serve his or her politics and say that, ‘I’m your friend.’ … I need your full support. Members should not have to walk into the halls when I walk through and say ‘This is one of our co-endorsed candidates.’ Co? What’s that? You’re either walking or you’re running. There’s no jogging.”
It’s complicated
You know the controversy over Bill McCollum pushing for the hiring of George Rekers — an anti-gay rights crusader who turned out to have hired a gay prostitute on RentBoy.com to escort him to Europe — to fight efforts to allow same-sex couples in Florida to adopt children? Somehow it seems relevant to note that McCollum’s longtime senior campaign adviser, Arthur Finkelstein, is a “married” gay man with two adopted children.

Palm Beach Strip Clubs: Cricket chirps on local sporting landscape

Marshall, idled by hip surgery, rode a stationary bicycle during Dolphins practice while wearing a No. 19 jersey, Ted Ginn Jr.’s old number. I’m worried that jersey might be haunted. At one point, Marshall attempted to pedal the stationary bike toward the sideline to avoid contact.
The one-day contract Thomas signed before retiring was for a token $1. Cannot confirm Thomas’ agent, Drew Rosenhaus, tried to negotiate it up to a buck fifty.

Palm Beach Strip Clubs: Cold case took years to solve despite initial evidence

May 22nd, 2010 by palmbeach-stripper

Officials say it was bad luck, and incompetence, on the part of the alleged killers and others, that helped them close the case: Security video showed the gunmen talking to Beasley, 26, of Lauderhill. Police nabbed a truck with bullet holes and blood still in it and linked them to Beasley and Wood. And their cellphones were traced to Palm Beach County.
“They weren’t rocket scientists,” one law enforcement source joked.
Beasley is one of three Broward County brothers authorities called the Assault Gun Bandits, responsible for nearly a dozen bank robberies.
They believe the two gunmen, in a situation unrelated to the robberies, killed Beasley in a soured drug deal or drug ripoff.
Investigators say this is what happened:
The last two people to see Beasley alive were his girlfriend and another woman, who said they saw him get into a truck at a North Miami Beach strip club and say he’d be right back.

Palm Beach Adult Entertainment: Victim lawyers: billionaire sex offender owes $2M

May 21st, 2010 by adultpalmbeach

One of the firm’s top lawyers, Robert Josefsburg, was appointed by federal prosecutors to represent 12 victims who filed civil lawsuits against Epstein. Under the deal Epstein signed with prosecutors in 2007, he would avoid federal charges and potentially lengthy prison sentences as long as he abided by several conditions – including paying fees for lawyers representing victims.
His failure to pay, according to the lawsuit, is a “material breach” of that agreement that could open the door to federal criminal prosecution, according the lawsuit filed in Miami federal court late Monday. An attorney for Epstein did not immediately respond to an e-mail seeking comment and the Miami U.S. attorney’s office – which signed the agreement with Epstein – declined comment.
Epstein, a 57-year-old investor, pleaded guilty in Palm Beach County in 2008 to two state prostitution counts and was designated a sex offender. He was sentenced to 18 months in jail following by a year of house arrest, which he is currently serving at his $6.8 million Palm Beach residence.

Palm Beach Adult Entertainment: Program gives Boynton Beach teens a chance to restore 1953 police car

May 21st, 2010 by adultpalmbeach

… You guys have to communicate and work with each other to make it happen,” Rodriguez encouraged as the boys stood in a line the length of the car guiding the tubing through its metal frame.
The group jokes around, and Rodriguez’s structured, but easygoing approach have allowed him to morph from intimidating police officer to an older-brother type of role model.
The teens didn’t immediately open up to Rodriguez; it took some time to build trust, he said. And he did so by opening up and sharing his own childhood stories growing up in industrial Hialeah where he arrived from Cuba in the 1980 Mariel boatlift when he was a toddler.
Rodriguez, too, had a police officer who would give him a ride home whenever he saw him stray too far from home as a kid. He, too, grew up in a neighborhood where drug sales and prostitution were prevalent.

Palm Beach Strip Clubs: Moratorium set for adult businesses

May 20th, 2010 by palmbeach-stripper

… The city needs to make amendments to the code of ordinances and the approval processes,” City Manager Charles Faranda said. Lauderhill officials, he said, want to have “a better sense of standards that comply with the federal law.”
Lauderhill’s operations administrator, Leslie Johnson, said city officials are looking to amend Article 3 of the land development code.
In the past few years, other cities have put similar moratoriums in place to curb adult entertainment businesses. Officials in Pembroke Park, for example, established a moratorium several years ago, prompted by the proliferation of strip clubs on Broward Boulevard.
Pembroke Park’s town manager, Bob Levy, said the moratorium was established in order to give officials time to come up with a policy. “We did a moratorium for a year while we developed our guidelines,” Levy said. At the time, he said, “a lot of [strip clubs] were looking for places to move to. Since we got inundated with requests, we decided to find out what was going on.”
