Palm Beach Escorts: Man acquitted in 2006 murder of prostitute

December 17th, 2010 by palmbeachhobbyist

Palm Beach Post Staff Writer
WEST PALM BEACH
— A man arrested and charged with the murder of a prostitute he admitted having sexual contact with was acquitted today of first-degree murder.
Samuel D. Arnold Jr., 24, admitted to having contact with 56-year-old Marian Blanc, but claimed he did not kill her. Following a jury trial where Arnold raised an alibi defense, jurors acquitted him Thursday, said his defense attorney, Assistant Public Defender Elizabeth Ramsey.
Blanc was found bludgeoned and strangled in a vacant lot behind a closed business in Pahokee in May 2006. Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Cold Case squad arrested Arnold in 2008 after DNA left on a condom found at the scene – collected at the time of the murder – was identified as his using the FBI’s Combined DNA Index System, CODIS.

Palm Beach Escorts: Parades, Prostitutes, and Pardons

December 10th, 2010 by palmbeachhobbyist

Parades, Prostitutes, and Pardons
Here is artist Charles Fazzino’s rendition of the boat parade, coming your way Saturday night (hat tip to Fort Lauderdale activist and photographer Art Seitz for the image).
Fazzino. self-described “master of 3-D pop art,” is the city’s official centennial artist, commissed by The Museum of Art/Fort Lauderdale. He was of course a favorite of Ponzi schemer Scott Rothstein; a few of Fazzino’s works were auctioned off after the arrest.

And I’m hearing very strange stories about Rothstein and his law partners. We had heard there were prostitutes all over the place, but more recently we learned that one of RRA’s honchos was so cavalier that he wrote personal checks to several prostitutes. The same partner also once bought two high-end ladies’ watches with the Ponzi proceeds, one going to his wife as an anniversary gift, the other to a prostitute.

Palm Beach Strip Clubs: Leslie Jordan Talks Deck Them Halls Y’All

December 8th, 2010 by palmbeach-stripper

I called Dave and said, “Well I’ve got a title”. He said, “I’ll book you into Orlando, Ft. Lauderdale and a couple of nights in Atlanta, and then we’ll open at the Renberg”. I said, “What are you talking about? I haven’t written it”. That was the best thing that could happen. I sat down and I had had this idea for a long time. I met this waitress in Dallas, Texas years ago, who was a stripper in her prime. Back in the 50s and early 60s she stripped for Jack Ruby. She had her own little Kennedy assassination theory that makes more sense than anything I’ve ever heard. She said to me (affects a high-pitched female voice). “Honey, you know Jack Ruby was homosexual. We all knew it. The girls knew it. You didn’t talk about it. You didn’t mention things like that. But, we knew what was up. He was always coming around the bars with these rough youn …

Palm Beach Adult Entertainment: Surf 98.3 changing to Coastal Carolina’s Modern Rock 98.7

December 7th, 2010 by adultpalmbeach

Last Modified: Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at 6:11 p.m.
The local radio scene is getting a shake-up for 2011.
The signal for Sunrise Broadcasting’s Surf 98.3 will go to Sea-Comm Media, and Sunrise will launch Coastal Carolina’s Modern Rock 98.7 in its place.
The new station will be similar to Surf 98.3 but concentrate more on alternative music from the 1990s rather than current hits and likely appeal to a slightly older audience, said Brian Schimmel, Sunrise general manager.
“It’ll be a unique blend of popular rock music and community involvement presented in a fun and family-friendly way with live and local personalities,” he said. “We will continue to not accept ads from adult entertainment venues, so you’ll never have to explain to your daughter who’s 9 years old what the DJ just said.”
