Strip club owner’s donation to Roosevelt Elementary causes stir

Over the past five years, Joe Rodriguez has donated tens of thousands of dollars to charities for at-risk and underprivileged children. He has helped keep parks open, bought uniforms for a high school football team and supported bands across South Florida. Now an elementary school in Palm Beach County is considering returning a $20,000 gift because the district learned that the donor, Rodriguez, is not just a wealthy businessman who gives to charity. He is a strip club owner. Rodriguez, who rose from a scrappy shoe-shine boy in New Jersey to become a wealthy strip-club king, owns Pure Platinum in Fort Lauderdale and the Cheetah gentlemen’s clubs in Hallandale Beach, Pompano Beach and Palm Beach County. Until now, Rodriguez’s gifts have largely remained anonymous because he didn’t want what he does for a living to smear his charitable efforts. “I’ve been doing this for years and I always do it quietly,” Rodriguez said. …

Palm Beach Strip Clubs: Strip Club Owner Donates Big Bucks to Elementary School; Officials Freak Out

Strip Club Owner Donates Big Bucks to Elementary School; Officials Freak Out
Poor Joe Rodriguez. The owner of the Cheetah Gentlemen’s Clubs in Pompano Beach and West Palm Beach tries to do the right thing, and he’s totally misunderstood.
In 2007, he launched Rodriguez Charities Inc., a nonprofit that aims to served the “needy and underprivileged,” according to its website. The charity quietly began donating money to such unobtrusive causes as Toys for Tots and the American Cancer Society. They even gave the Blanche Ely High School marching band in Pompano $7,500 for a trip to Washington, D.C.

Last week, Rodriguez presented a giant, $10,000 check to Roosevelt’s principal, and invited the media to help celebrate. Suddenly, a strip club king was posing in a photo with a school principal, and things got weird.

Palm Beach Strip Clubs: Cops: Restaurant strip show gets former Channel 7 exec arrested

Cops: Restaurant strip show gets former Channel 7 exec arrested
Ex-Channel 7 honcho Randi Goldklank — who resigned from the Boston station after a booze-fueled, airport tirade in 2008 — was arrested in Florida Sunday night after dancing like a stripper in a restaurant and threatening to put the arresting officer on the news, police said.
Delray Beach police were called to The Office at 9:35 p.m. because an intoxicated woman was “doing innappropriate acts” and refused to leave, according to the police report, obtained by the Herald.
Restaurant staff called police, saying Goldklank was “touching herself, removing her top and dancing on a pole like a stripper,” according to the report.
Goldklank, who just turned 43, was sitting at the hostess desk and touching the restaurant’s DJ equipment when a police officer arrived. The embattled TV exec refused to step outside, the report said.

Palm Beach Strip Clubs: Ex-Channel 7 GM arrested again

January 26th, 2011 by palmbeach-stripper

Goldklank has been dumped by WPEC-TV (Channel 12), where she was an advertising executive, after being “intoxicated and doing inappropriate acts,” according to police. (Her arrest was first reported by The Palm Beach Post’s Jose Lambiet.)
According to a Delray Beach Police report, the manager of the trendy restaurant The Office called 911 because Goldklank was behaving bizarrely — “removing her top, and dancing on a pole like a stripper” — and refusing to leave. When police arrived, they found Goldklank, 42, fooling around with the DJ’s equipment. An officer tried to escort her out of the restaurant, but Goldklank, whose speech was slurred, resisted and tried to run away, police said. According to the officer, “the defendant repeatedly told me that if I did not let her go, I would be on the news because she works for News 12.”
