With his wife of 50-plus years by his side and a driver in a black Mercedes waiting in the parking lot, Wolofsky on Monday pleaded not guilty to money laundering in connection with the alleged $40 million scam. Wolofsky was allowed to return to his $3.5 million home in St. Andrews Country Club after posting two $1 million bonds.
Outside the courthouse, his attorney insisted he had nothing to do with the Fort Lauderdale-based psychics led by family matriarch Rose Marks.
“He had absolutely nothing to do with the gypsies,” attorney Samuel Rabin Jr. said. “Other than lending them money he had nothing to do with them.”
However, it is the second time in three years the octogenarian has appeared in federal court. In 2008, he was accused of laundering money for a massive drug ring. Operating out of a Hialeah strip club, it snared headlines when authorities said kingpins tried to buy a $5.5 million submarine in the former Soviet Union to ferry cocaine from Colombia to the U.S. and Canada.

The landlord, Ramco-Gershenson Properties, sued to evict Crabby Jack’s operator, Tanson Corp., in February, claiming the restaurant wasn’t paying their bills. Lawyers for the two side met Friday in Broward civil court, where an agreement couldn’t be reached, according to the Sun-Sentinel.
The eviction case was set to go to trial in early September.
Eric J. Partlow, attorney for Ramco-Gershenson, said the fire seemed suspicious.
“The landlord is disappointed and concerned in the manner in which it lost its property,” Partlow said. “We find it too much coincidence to be coincidence, frankly.”
Andrew Schwartz, attorney for Tanson, said Partlow’s comments were “premature in every respect and irresponsible at best,” adding that they “were extremely disappointed about the fire and how over 40 people have lost their jobs.”
As for the employees, they might not be out of a job for long, unless they object to nudity. The owner of Hallandale Beach’s Cheetah Club is offering Crabby Jack’s employees jobs at the strip club.

Freedman said much of the bankruptcy trustee’s evidence against the 72 is limited to the Yahoo! Sports report that brought the scandal into the national spotlight, but “we have books and records that show some of the transfers. Some are not easily traceable. Our records reflect what Shapiro has indicated to Yahoo! I have no reason to doubt what Nevin has been saying. We have done our due diligence.”
Shapiro told Yahoo! that in one instance he gave former Canes star Vince Wilfork two $50,000 Cadillac Escalades for him and his fiancée.
“It appears to us there is authority to the claim on Vince Wilfork,” Freedman said.
The bankruptcy trustee has recovered nearly $19 million of the money that investors gave Shapiro for operating a bogus wholesale food business. The trustee is trying to recover $111 million.
Shapiro, serving a 20-year prison sentence, said he used some of that money to shower UM players with cash, dinners, jewelry, entertainment, prostitutes and parties at his Miami Beach home and yacht.

… Next entry: Oops: Man charged with DUI — after backing into a deputy
By Barbara Hijek August 29, 2011 07:14 AM
You’d think that judges have heard it all.
But Willie David Rice, a Hollywood man arrested during a raid on the Boom Boom Room, a bordello with underage girls, managed to surprise one judge in Fort Lauderdale last week.
In federal court to answer to charges that he guarded the Oakland Park brothel, he gave this response when the judge asked about his line of work: “Criminal,” reports the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.
Rice, 45, then explained he’s never had legitimate employment.
U.S. District Judge William Dimitrouleas said in the 22 years he’s been on the bench and asked about employment, “it’s the first time I’ve heard that answer.”

Well, folks, they’re at it again. The misleaders of the Republican Party are making all sorts of noises that make it pretty clear that they are going to do what Obama-Soetoro and the moronic Marxist minions in the Democrat Party have been demanding, and raise our already ridiculously high taxes even higher. Speaking of high, it is highly unlikely that any balanced budget amendment that comes from our misleaders will bar raising taxes to accomplish it. And don’t look for it to have caps, either, much less limits, on spending. They’re about to sell us and our children and grandchildren down the river to live as slaves on the Progressive Tax Plantation.
Even with Congress adjourned, the money is flowing out of Washington as if we still actually had some. Millions upon millions are still being sent to foreign countries, many of whose governments are openly hostile to us. Millions upon millions are being doled out for projects like looking at drug use among Chinese prostitutes. The list of outrageous wastes of the money we had to borrow so we could give it away goes on and on, seemingly without end.

… I use blatant language,” Matthew, a licensed clinical social worker affiliated with South Palm Beach County’s Ruth Rales Jewish Family Service, told the Forward. She said the walk-outs were an anomaly. “They’re not 12-year-old virgins,” she said. “You should be able to say the words ‘vagina,’ ‘penis,’ ‘orgasm.’” Not to mention — though she did — one three-word phrase that had an even greater impact: Sexually. Transmitted. Diseases.
Mary Jane Fine Frank Talk: Social worker Diane Matthew says senior citizens shouldn’t be embarassed to talk about sex.
Matthew’s lecture series for the 55-and-older gated communities of Boca Raton and Delray Beach began a decade ago, but in the wake of a recently reported “epidemic” among seniors, it has acquired a more urgent tone.
“I say to them, ‘You have to look out for yourself; you think because you can’t get pregnant, you don’t have to be careful,’” Matthew said. “I think, in general, most people are surprised [by the message]. They think it’s not going to happen to them. Most of the women were married to one man for 40 years. In their minds, STDs are for prostitutes.”

… He was shooting as he was driving backwards, and the cops just kept on shooting,” said witness Kevin Phillips, 46. “I saw the cop’s back and his gun drawn. He was emptying his clip.”
At least 50 rounds were fired during the shootout and 11/2-mile chase before Herrera crashed into the gate of Crosspointe Elementary School on Congress Avenue. Marshals quickly captured him.
Both Herrera and the woman in the car, whose identity still hasn’t been released, were hit in the exchange of gunfire and are recovering at Delray Medical Center, authorities said. No one else was inured.
“This subject is clearly a violent fugitive and extremely dangerous to the public,” Golden said. “That’s why he was targeted.”
Herrera was wanted on charges of attempted murder, kidnapping and armed robbery.
Miami-Dade police said he was partying at a Hialeah strip club on July 22. About 5 a.m., he and some other people went to one man’s home to continue partying.

Defendant identifies job as ‘criminal’
Published: Aug. 26, 2011 at 2:58 PM
OAKLAND PARK, Fla., Aug. 26 (UPI) — A Florida judge said he was shocked when he asked a defendant about his line of work and received the response, “criminal.”
U.S. District Judge William Dimitrouleas said Willie David Rice, 45, gave the answer while facing charges Thursday of guarding an Oakland Park brothel, the South Florida Sun Sentinel reported Friday.
Dimitrouleas, who has been a judge for 22 years, said, “It’s the first time I’ve heard that answer.”
Rice explained to the judge he has never held a legitimate job. He was one of three people arrested during a May raid on the Boom Boom Room, a brothel alleged to have employed underage prostitutes.
Rice pleaded guilty Thursday to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He faces up to 10 years in prison.

Coming soon, the top level domain .xxx will be available to
parties who provide adult entertainment services online for
registration from ICM Registry though accredited registrars.
Starting September 7, 2011, adult-oriented businesses may file
applications for .xxx domain names.
This means that
trademark owners could be faced with seeing their valuable
trademark associated with an adult-oriented online business.
It is settled trademark law that the mere use of a trademark as
part of a domain name, without more, is not trademark use. Suppose
ABC Corporation owned the trademark LEARN MY ABC for its line of
preschool educational materials….
