ALEX BOERNER/TREASURE COAST NEWSPAPERS LeeAnn Williams Kikivarakis, member of the Bible Teachers International-Indiantown, Inc., a nonprofit organization that works with young people facing difficult circumstances, tells her personal story to the audience at Veterans Memorial Park in Stuart on Tuesday afternoon during a ceremony to recognize “Youth Success Day.”

STUART — When Assistant State Attorney Pam Roebuck learned 14 days ago that the governor designated Jan. 31 Youth Success Day, she knew she had to act.
She’d seen success in the young robbers, drug dealers and prostitutes she’d sent to jail. They’d gone to college, gotten jobs, started families, and devoted their lives to helping other wayward youths. Their turnaround was due largely to one woman, Pastor Wanda Grooms, who Roebuck honored Tuesday afternoon.

But later that month, his status as a champion of conservative Republican causes and an admired husband and father of four children came crashing down. News surfaced that the FBI and D.C. police accused him of soliciting sex from a 16-year-old male prostitute who apparently used fake identification to land a job as a stripper in a D.C. gay bar called the Chesapeake House, the place where Bauman met him.
Just four weeks before Bauman was expected to win re-election to a fourth term in Congress by a lopsided margin, he pleaded “no contest” in federal court to a misdemeanor charge of solicitation for prostitution. Under a plea bargain arrangement for first-time offenders, authorities called for a sentence of just six months probation, with no jail time, after which the charge was dropped.

… I don’t think the investigation met the jurors’ expectations,” Skier said after the verdict.
In his closing arguments, Skier told jurors there was no way they could trust the testimony of Henry McNish, prosecutors’ key witness in the case and the man driving the car Murat was alleged to have crashed into after a violent confrontation between the three sparked a car chase.
McNish told police he and Geary were on their way to the Palm Beach County jail to report that Murat had pulled a gun on Geary just moments earlier outside a Circle K convenience store in West Palm Beach.
Skier called it implausible that McNish, who was on federal probation at the time, and Geary, who was homeless and had turned to prostitution to survive, would drive to a jail.

Lake Worth couple charged with running prostitution out of apartment

LAKE WORTH
, Fla. — Authorities arrested a Lake Worth duo Thursday after they were accused of offering sex for $25 while playing the role of pimp and prostitute.
Miguel Gomez Miranda, 51, is being held at the Palm Beach County Jail in lieu of $8,500 bond. He is facing charges of living off the earnings of a prostitute.
Meanwhile, 35-year-old Sandra Peralta, who is facing prostitution charges, was released on her own recognizance. Though Circuit Court Judge Mark Eissey offered her the option to plead guilty and pay a fine, a lack of understanding on her behalf forced him to set a hearing for a later date while releasing her from the county jail.

Thursday’s first performance, officially a preview, began promisingly enough with Dominick Daniel as a funny faux tough-guy narrator named Vito. Soon enough, we’re at the castle of the Evil Queen (Kitt Marsh), where the vain one is constantly seeking beauty validation from a magic mirror. Inside the mirror is a tart-tongued spirit (Zachary Schwartz) who is way more queen-like than Snow White’s step-mummy will ever be.
Here, Snow White (Danielle Tabino) is a pretty girl with a killer bod and an empty head. Whether the playwrights or Tabino decided to make Snow so slow, it’s tough to root for a “heroine” who makes Dopey look like a rocket scientist. Not that anyone resembling a Disney dwarf appears in this show.
Infinite Abyss show transforms Snow White’s sidekick protectors into a family of Davie trailer-dwelling rednecks with a taste for porn, drugs, sex (solo and otherwise) and scams. They “protect” the lost beauty from the Evil Queen’s lethal schemes, but only so they can pimp her out to Prince (Daniel again, this time playing the music star, sort of) in lieu of coming up with the rent on their not-so-glam Davie digs.

Lana and Syril are both trying to warn Archer about the severity of the Cuban hit squad and/or making fun of the fact that Burt Reynolds is nailing his mom. The new old couple are supposed to attend a movie premiere together that evening but she receives a cancellation note from him at the last second – Regards, Burt (”they weren’t even warmest”). Lana and the rest of the ISIS team quickly piece together that the card likely came from Archer who, in turn, has taken it upon himself to knock the star out and taken him back to his penthouse. In a nice nod to Silence of the Lambs, Archer keeps Burt strapped in a dolly like he’s Hannibal Lecter all while Woodhouse attends to his every beck and call (like a serving him Pims in a pimp cup). Of course, it isn’t long before the Reynolds’ sweet talking and charisma mesmerizes Archer and soon the pair are talking plot possibilities for the last film in the Gator trilogy, this time with airboats.

So far, transcripts of the first six days of Rothstein’s 10 days of testimony have been released, with the disbarred attorney giving his version under oath of how he constructed his empire of lies and sought to maintain it with bribes, threats and lavish gifts before its collapse in October 2009.
Rothstein, 49, was sentenced last year to 50 years in prison for his $1.4 billion Ponzi scheme, the largest fraud in South Florida history. From the transcripts, Rothstein appears to be relishing his chance to tell all – including which of his law partners, business associates and investors allegedly took advantage of the sexual favors he paid richly to procure.
He told the lawyers interrogating him that he spent tens of thousands of dollars a month on women from strip clubs and escort services, and had girls on call in hotels and apartments.

Ponzi Clown Scott Rothstein Spent $60,000 a Month on Prostitutes
Scott Rothstein, the ego-drive man-child of a mega-lawyer who is now serving 50-years in prison for running a $1.2 billion Ponzi scheme in Fort Lauderdale, has now admitted to shelling out in the neighborhood of $50,000 to $60,000 a month on prostitutes alone. Oh, sure, some of the hookers were for himself, but most were for his employees, clients, business associates, and, apparently, cops. Rothstein even owned a condo across from his office set aside specifically for the purpose of banging hookers during work breaks. What else do you expect form the sleazy Great Gatsby-ish failure who owned multiple golden toilets?
“So let’s talk about the gross, I mean gross as in the large number,” Rothstein was instructed in one of the few times where really either definition of gross would have sufficed. “Let’s talk about the gross number that you were spending on prostitutes a month at let’s say its height for you and for your friends and associates.”
…
In addition to friends and business associates, Rothstein also claims he supplied prostitutes to certain police officers but would not identify the officers by name.
