Palm Beach Strip Clubs: Tit for Tat Cocktails at Sweetwater Bar & Grill

February 29th, 2012 by palmbeach-stripper

A friend chose Sweetwater’s as the halfway point between where she lives in Lake Worth and where I live in Lauderdale. I was happy to hit up one of the few places outside of Miami known for craft cocktails, since I’ve been craving an aviation.
“It’s so layered,” observed my friend on her first sip. This perfect gin drink of Maraschino liqueur, lemon juice, and iridescent Creme de Violette was the gateway drink that spurred my enthusiasm for liquor.
Though Maraschino liqueur is relatively unusual, good gin and Creme de Violette make the drink. Available in the US market in 2007, Creme de Violette is a combination of macerated Queen Charlotte and March violet flowers from the Alps. The liqueur is a take on the 1940’s Creme Yvette, which hasn’t been available for decades.
Served at Sweetwater’s in a coupe glass the size of breast from centuries ago, a Florida version of an aviation might arrive in a scorpion bowl the size of a stripper’s implant. Now that’s a drink to do you in.

Palm Beach Strip Clubs: Body count mounts with South Florida nightclub killings on the rise

February 27th, 2012 by palmbeach-stripper

Body count mounts with South Florida nightclub killings on the rise
By Robert Nolin
Sun Sentinel
An early morning last June at a Lauderdale Lakes lounge: Caribbean music pulsates, patrons preen, liquor flows.
And fingers twitch on triggers.
A gunman and armed guard unleash a barrage of bullets among up to 75 panicked clubgoers. When the pistols fall silent, two men are dead and 10 revelers are wounded.
About 20 minutes later, at a strip club outside Riviera Beach, an ejected customer squeezes off numerous angry rounds into the business. Two men are shot, two women injured.
That bloody morning illustrates what experts are saying. Besides booze, sex and sounds, nightclubs are stirring a new thrill into the mix: the possibility of instant, often fatal, violence. And it usually explodes out of a minor provocation.

Palm Beach Strip Clubs: Florida bill would ban buying sweets with food stamps

February 9th, 2012 by palmbeach-stripper

Associated Press
FORT LAUDERDALE Florida’s poor can use food stamps to buy staples like
milk, vegetables, fruits and meat. But they can also use them to buy
sweets like cakes, cookies and Jell-O and snack foods like chips
something a state senator wants stopped.
Sen. Ronda Storms, R-Valrico, also wants to limit other welfare funds, known as Temporary Assistance For Needy Families, from being used at ATMs in casinos and strip clubs and anywhere out of state. The bill comes after reports that the debit cards welfare recipients now receive were used in those places, as well as locations in Las Vegas and the Virgin Islands in a small percentage of cases, but the state does not track what items were purchased.
The bill recently passed a committee. A companion bill in the state House is being considered by a subcommittee.

Palm Beach Strip Clubs: Girls to God: Former Boynton Beach strip club becomes church

February 8th, 2012 by palmbeach-stripper

Former Boynton Beach strip club becomes sanctuary
February 08, 2012 7:48 PM
BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. – A new and holier chapter for a former Boynton Beach strip club starts in just weeks. It is turning into a church.
“It brought a lot of drugs and illegal activity,” said Vivian Brooks, Boynton Beach CRA.
That’s what investigators say the Boynton Beach strip club Platinum Showgirls offered patrons for years.
“There were rooms in the back, three or four rooms. There were beds and mattresses in there, chairs. It was pretty nasty.”
All of it right in downtown Boynton Beach with a neighborhood just feet away, separated by trees and rusty barbed wire.
The party ended October 2009. Police and DEA agents raided Platinum Showgirls and made multiple prostitution and drugs arrests. The building sat empty for two years. Then a local pastor walked in.

“There were actually three strip clubs in our corridor and they are all gone now,” said Vivian Brooks.

Palm Beach Strip Clubs: Before Sunrise: Dispatch From a Boob-Flaunting, Binge-Drinking, Race-Baiting …

February 6th, 2012 by palmbeach-stripper

The result was a loosely organized inferno. On the outer ring, thousands of men and a handful of women sat in stadium seats, swigging beer and watching mechanical bull and mud wrestling contests. Every time the Jumbotron focused on a woman, it began with a close-up of her breasts. A chorus of men would immediately chant, “TAKE IT OFF.” Busty women hoisted their boobs to their chins and made kissy faces. Friendly women rubbed their boobs against their friends. Exhibitionist women pulled their boobs out of their bras, allowing their nipples to swing free. The “kiss cam,” typically used to highlight cute couples at sporting events, was exclusively for girl-on-girl action today.
On the floor of the stadium—the second ring of Wing Bowl Hell, dedicated to lust—strippers posed for pictures and gyrated.
“It’s fun,” a bottle-blonde stripper told me through a yawn. She wore a fresh set of acrylic nails and panties with her employer’s logo stamped on the butt. “The club pays us to be here, and then guys come to the club after, so we make money there, too.” (Wing Bowl, keep in mind, is more or less over by 9 a.m.)
