Palm Beach Adult Entertainment: Actress to put own stamp on role when ‘Cabaret’ comes to Sunrise Theatre
February 25th, 2010 by adultpalmbeachBoycott, 20, will play the lead role when the national touring company of “Cabaret” performs the Tony Award-winning musical at 7 p.m. Sunday at The Sunrise Theatre in Fort Pierce.
The story is set in Berlin in 1929. Sally, a middle-class girl from London, is working as a singer at the Kit Kat Club and trying her best to live the decadent life the city is supposed to offer. Into her orbit comes Cliff Bradshaw, a young American writer, and Sally moves in with him at the boarding house run by Fraulein Schneider.
Other lodgers include Fraulein Kost, a cheerful prostitute, and the gentle graying fruiterer Herr Schultz. As the clouds gather, Sally — now pregnant by Cliff — still is determined to show the world what a good time she’s having. She will not, or cannot, hear the noises of Nazism around her. But the others can.
