Palm Beach Adult Entertainment: Tamarac man sentenced to 30 years in prison for sex trafficking
February 9th, 2012 by adultpalmbeachThirty-five year-old Martin Curtis, of Tamarac, was sentenced to 30 years in prison today on charges of sex trafficking of a minor.
United States District Judge Joan A. Lenard also sentenced Curtis to a lifetime of supervised release, and ordered him to pay restitution to the victim in the amount of $54,000. The sentencing follows Curtis’s conviction on November 18, 2011, by a jury trial.
His indictment, along with evidence presented at trial, showed that in December 2009, Curtis met a 15-year-old girl who was a runaway. Within days of their meeting, he had recruited her as a prostitute and sent her out on prostitution dates.
On New Year’s Eve 2009, the pair moved to Broward County, where Curtis continued to force the girl on prostitution dates. According the trial testimony, the young girl was prostituted four to five days per week, and serviced five to seven customers per day.
